Extra Life

Extra Life is an annual fundraising event where gamers stream video game content in support of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Gearbox Entertainment annually hosts a 12-hour gaming marathon on Twitch to spread awareness and raise funds for pediatric healthcare. It's an opportunity to bring together our gaming communities and support a noble cause. In 2021 and 2022 alone, Gearbox raised over $10,000 for children's hospitals across North America. 100% of donations go to member children’s hospitals to fund critical life-saving treatments and healthcare services, along with innovative research, vital pediatric medical equipment, and child life services.

Previously, our San Francisco team and Gunfire Games partnered up to support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and Extra Life with proceeds from a sale on Remnant: From the Ashes and its downloadable content, Swamps of Corsus, and Subject 2923. The sale raised over $56,000.

We are committed to strengthening our Extra Life efforts each year and to raising more funds in support of our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Boys & Girls Clubs of America

With the support of our community and partners, more than $265,000 was raised by our San Francisco team for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, to ensure kids across the U.S. have access to safe spaces during out-of-school hours.

In 2021, these funds resulted in the donation of 80 tech packs for new California members and fellows of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the teen tech program. In Redwood City, funds supported programs for 150 teens at the Forest High School Center, and more than 250 families in need were delivered groceries.

Our San Francisco team also partnered with Cryptic Studios, another member of the Gearbox family, and ViacomCBS Consumer Products to help empower Boys & Girls Clubs youth from diverse backgrounds and celebrate Star Trek Online's 11th anniversary. This celebration raised more than $68,000. In addition, 15% of the proceeds from the 2021 publisher sale on Steam was donated to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

“The generosity of Gearbox and its fans in 2021 helped Boys & Girls Clubs of America ensure that kids and teens across the nation have safe, supportive, and inclusive spaces during crucial out-of-school hours.” - Boys & Girls Clubs of America
